This Vacherin Mont d’Or is a festive favourite organic cheese, named after the Swiss mountain which overlooks the region in which it is made. Served in a lovely wooden box, this is a soft, rich seasonal treat, made in the winter months when the cows return from their mountainous winter pastures. It’s perfect for heating in the box, like a camembert, so you can enjoy it in the same way you would a fondue.

The hills are alive with sound of mooing, from the many cows in the Jura region, which straddles Switzerland and France. They’ve come down from their mountain pastures and it’s their lovely milk, along with centuries of know-how, that’s used to make Vacherin’s cheese.
