Our sprats come by way of Celtic Coast Fish Company, who source fish with sustainability and freshness in mind. Similar to sardines in that they are rather bite-sized and very oily, these little marine wonders are a seasonal treat. Best enjoyed whole – cover them in some flour, sizzle them in a pan, and then give ‘em a good squeeze of lemon. Remember, the more the merrier in this case. Our sprats are caught by surrounding net or Pelagic trawled from the North Sea. They have an MCS rating of 3.

Celtic Coast Fish Company was started by two former fishmongers Nick and Gareth, who wanted to source wonderful, fresh fish in the right way: sustainably and responsibly. They have good links with UK fish markets from Cornwall to Scotland, but also work with fishers in and around Wales and Ireland.

Storage & prep

Keep refrigerated below 5 degrees. Freeze as soon as possible and before the 'use by date' once frozen consume within 6 months. Defrost thoroughly before use. Once defrosted use straight away do not re freeze.

To cook: shallow fry in seasoned flour.
