Orange & Honey Butter

Add a pinch of orange zest and a drizzle of honey to soft butter. Then use to top toasted tea cakes and hot cross buns. An easy way to turn teatime into a treat.

  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 2 oranges
  • 3 tbsp honey

Method

1. Let the butter come to room temperature. Pop it into a mixing bowl and use electric beaters to beat it till it's creamy.
2. Finely grate the zest from the oranges into the bowl. Squeeze in the jucie from 1 orange. Drizzle in the honey. Beat again to combine.
3. Spoon the flavoured butter into a smal tub and seal. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week. Or freeze for up to 3 months. The butter is delicious spread on toast, hot cross buns or used as a filling for sponge cakes.
