Apple Peel Tea

Warming. Cosy. Full of autumnal spice. Apple peel tea is a comforting way to use up leftover apple peelings. Simmered with cloves and cinnamon. Then sweetened with honey or maple syrup. It's a delicious way to use up every last bit of your apples.

Ingredients

  • 6 whole cloves
  • A handful of apple peels
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Honey or maple syrup, to sweeten

Method

1. Stick 6 cloves into a handful of apple peels. Drop them into a small pan and add 1 cinnamon stick. Cover with 600ml water.
2. Set on a high heat and bring to the boil. Put a lid on the pan and turn down the heat. Gently simmer for 10 mins.
3. Strain to 2 cups (or a teapot if this is for 1 person). Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste.
