We're thrilled to bring you these entriely plastic and peat free potted herbs from Organic Blooms. Thyme’s leafy clusters impart a subtly floral and fragrant flavour to stews and hotpots, and compliment the natural earthiness of roasted root veggies beautifully. Organic thyme can also be infused into homemade oils and spirits when you’re planning ahead for gifts with that personal touch.

You should be able to use a little of your organic thyme right away, but it's best to grow the plant on for a couple of weeks before giving it a bigger chop. Your plant will be right at home on a sunny kitchen windowsill, but if it grows faster than you can use it (thyme is robust and hardy), it’s also simple to repot or plant out in the garden. Then you can simply compost the fibrous pot it arrives in.

Producer

Jo Wright and her team at Organic Blooms work hard to bring organic flowers to your door. Based in Gloucestershire, they run as a social enterprise, providing jobs for those who might struggle in a traditional workplace. Horticultural therapy is at the heart of what they do – gardening and plant-tending being excellent options for those with varying support needs. We work with them to plan upcoming crops, making sure each flower is reliable, interesting and satisfying for their staff to grow. We’re proud to say that, because of our support, they’ve been able to hire more people than ever before.

Ingredients & allergens

Abel & Cole handles celery, celeriac, peanuts and nuts on site. Due to our packing process and re-use of boxes there is a risk of cross-contamination from these, and all other allergens.

While we do everything we can to ensure the information on this page is correct, ingredients, nutritional and dietary information are subject to change. So along with the information on our website, we always recommend that you read each label carefully before enjoying your items

Storage & prep

Open straight away and water well. Thyme likes a sunny windowsill or sunny bed outside, it is a perennial herb and will die back in the winter but re-emerge in the spring. Your plant will arrive in a biodegradable wood-pulp pot, you can keep it inside this pot for a little while but it will start to break down once you've watered it a few times. You can either pot it on inside the pot, give it a good soak first and it will slowly break down allowing the roots to grow outwards. Or you can tip it out of the pot to pot it on and compost or reuse the wood-pulp pot.
