Producer

Windmill Hill are supplying our organic Blackberries & Blackcurrants this year from their orchards in South Herefordshire. Christine and Anthony Snell have specialised in soft fruit production since 1989. On the farm they introduce beneficial predatory species into crops and carefully manage the climate under the Polytunnel to create the optimum environment for controlling pests and maintaining the best fruit quality. Windmill Hill is home to over 100 bird boxes, hedgerows and numerous wild flower meadows all of which are key to biodiversity on the farm.

Ingredients & allergens

Abel & Cole handles celery, celeriac, peanuts and nuts on site. Due to our packing process and re-use of boxes there is a risk of cross-contamination from these, and all other allergens.

While we do everything we can to ensure the information on this page is correct, ingredients, nutritional and dietary information are subject to change. So along with the information on our website, we always recommend that you read each label carefully before enjoying your items

Storage & prep

Blackcurrants need very little preparation - just wash them gently and dry them on a clean tea towel. If you're not going to eat them straight away you should store blackcurrants in the fridge, preferably in a shallow tray. If you want to keep them for longer, then blackcurrants freeze well. Don’t forget to wash your fruit and veg before use.

Outstanding in their field
Our farmers are brilliant. We talk to them every day and have close relationships with them all. It means we get the pick of their crop, and we make sure they get a fair deal too.
