These sprouts are grown by "Organic Dan" Gielty on Home Farm, in Ormskirk. Farming from a gorgeous part of the country, Dan's a laid back, salt of the earth chap who grows fantastic onions, potatoes and lots of other veg for us throughout the year.
Abel & Cole handles celery, celeriac, peanuts and nuts on site. Due to our packing process and re-use of boxes there is a risk of cross-contamination from these, and all other allergens.

Firstly peel away any damaged outer leaves; these are left on for delivery to protect the inner brussel. You may like to cut a cross along the bottom of the vegetable, but this could be a waste of time as they cook perfectly well without and this may even lead to loss of flavour or shape. Place them in a tightly covered pan with 2-3 centimetres (1in) of boiling, salted water. They should be ready after 8-10 minutes unless they are huge! Then drain and finish in the various ways described in the recipes. You should keep your Brussels sprouts wrapped, to keep them crisp, crunchy and fresh. Store in your fridge and eat as soon as possible. Suitable for home freezing. Don’t forget to wash your fruit and veg before use.
