We're thrilled to bring you these entirely plastic and peat free potted herbs from Organic Blooms. Enjoy the freshest Russian tarragon with your salmon, chicken, asparagus and carrots. The perfect addition to any window ledge plant collection or outdoor herb garden.

You should be able to use a little of your organic tarragon right away, but it's best to grow the plant on for a couple of weeks before giving it a bigger chop. If your plant outgrows the fully compostable pot, you can replant in an indoor planter or outside. Make sure your plant has good drainage and gets a dose of sunshine and you won’t be disappointed in the resulting flavour. This Russian Tarragon is very hardy and as a perennial should take you right through the four seasons. Just one plant will give you masses of leaves to pick over several years.

Producer

Jo Wright and her team at Organic Blooms work hard to bring organic flowers to your door. Based in Gloucestershire, they run as a social enterprise, providing jobs for those who might struggle in a traditional workplace. Horticultural therapy is at the heart of what they do – gardening and plant-tending being excellent options for those with varying support needs. We work with them to plan upcoming crops, making sure each flower is reliable, interesting and satisfying for their staff to grow. We’re proud to say that, because of our support, they’ve been able to hire more people than ever before.

Storage & prep

Open straight away and water well. Russian tarragon likes a sunny windowsill or sunny bed outside. Your plant will arrive in a biodegradable wood-pulp pot, you can keep it inside this pot for a little while but it will start to break down once you've watered it a few times. You can either pot it on inside the pot, give it a good soak first and it will slowly break down allowing the roots to grow outwards. Or you can tip it out of the pot to pot it on and compost or reuse the wood-pulp pot.
