Hollyhocks are a beautiful garden plant, essential in any British border, with towering flower spikes that attract bees and butterflies alike. These plants, grown for us by Tanya down in Somerset, are biennials, which means you can plant them out this autumn ready to flower next late spring/early summer.

Producer

Located in Templecombe, within the heart of the beautiful Somerset countryside, Meadow & Hedgerow Organics produce seasonal, organic fresh cut flowers and plants. Tanya, whose charming rustic approach really hit home with us, is a huge advocate for organic gardening. A local country girl now growing her quintessentially english flowers on a 100-acre organic farm where she used to play as a child. "I take inspiration from countryside walks, enjoying the surrounding meadows, listening to nature and it helps me grow and create lovely, cottage garden style flowers".

Storage & prep

Open immediately and water well. Pot with some potting compost into a slightly larger pot to grow on for a bit before planting out in your garden by November.

Where the wild things are
We all love butterflies, birds and bees. Choosing organic is better for the environment. Organic farms encourage wildlife and biodiversity (by not using chemical sprays, and by having more hedgerows, fallow land and wildflowers).
