Storage & prep

Little Gem Lettuce:
When to sow: Feb – September
Spacing: 30 x 20cm
Tips: Shallow sow in drills 30cm apart, or sow in modules and transplant to final position.
Summer crop: sow from March outdoors, or early Feb indoors, protect from frost.
For an autumn/winter crop sow in early August.
For late winter/early spring crop sow in September/October.

Butterhead Lettuce:
When to sow: Feb – September
Spacing: 30 x 20cm
Tips: Shallow sow in drills 30cm apart, or sow in modules and transplant to final position.
Summer crop: sow from March outdoors, or early Feb indoors, protect from frost.
For an autumn/winter crop sow in early August.
For late winter/early spring crop sow in September/October.

Rocket:
When to sow: March / August
Spacing: 15 x 25cm
Tips: Grow outdoors from March-April or August-September or in greenhouses in late winter February-March or September. Direct drill in rows 15cm apart or sow in seed trays or modules.

Asian Greens:
When to sow: Jan-Apr, July-Oct
Spacing: 15 x 30cm
Tips: For early spring salad sow from mid-February under cover. For autumn/winter leaves sow from mid August till October. Direct sow in drills 15cm apart or sow in modules and transplant to final spacing. The leaves can be picked individually or treated as cut-and-come-again; spacing can be tighter for the latter option.
