What makes me special?

- The globe artichoke is a flower bud of a large member of the thistle family
- Both the tender leaves and the ‘heart’ (base) of the bud can be eaten
- Surprisingly versatile – they can be boiled, steamed, grilled or barbecued
- We love to serve them steamed with a garlicky dip and a bottle of crisp white wine
- Organically grown – working with nature to encourage biodiversity on farms
- Delivered sustainably to your door with as little packaging and as few food miles as possible
- Zero air freight
- Country of Origin – UK
- Class – Minimum Class 2

Producer

Our globe artichokes come from Clive Martin's farm in Cambridgeshire. Clive's kept us in amazing artichokes for years, and has grown a lot of rhubarb and asparagus for us on his Fenland farm too.

Ingredients & allergens

Abel & Cole handles celery, celeriac and nuts on site. Due to our packing process and re-use of boxes there is a risk of cross-contamination from these, and all other allergens.

While we do everything we can to ensure the information on this page is correct, ingredients, nutritional and dietary information are subject to change. So along with the information on our website, we always recommend that you read each label carefully before enjoying your items

Storage & prep

Steam them over a pot of water fragranced with a few garlic cloves and bay leaves. It takes 45 mins to 1 hr, and it's worth the wait. Make up a dish of melted garlic butter and dip each leaf in the butter, nibbling the tender base until you get to the gorgeous heart of the choke in the very centre. Don’t forget to wash your fruit and veg before use.

Where the wild things are
We all love butterflies, birds and bees. Choosing organic is better for the environment. Organic farms encourage wildlife and biodiversity (by not using chemical sprays, and by having more hedgerows, fallow land and wildflowers).
