Granny Smiths may not have come about if it wasn't for pure coincidence. Anne Smith (mother of the Granny Smith), living in New South Wales, happened across a seedling tree growing in a creek where she'd tipped out the last of some apples she brought back from Sydney. She started out using the apples for cooking but it wasn't long till people discovered their naturally great taste and crunch, and so she began growing them properly. These organic apples have a lovely tang and are fab as dessert apples. You can use them as an alternative to Bramley cooking apples as well.

All of our organic apples are unwaxed
