The tulips are grown by Frank and Boy Schouten, a father and son team with a passion for organic flowers. Holland has a great tradition of tulip growing but Frank and Boy wanted to see if they could try a more sustainable practice. "20 Years ago, in 2005, we started growing organic bulbs. At first we had to investigate whether it was possible and understand the problems. There were many hurdles to overcome, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bulbs and flowers we produced to organic standards. That gave us enough inspiration & motivation to continue and expand. We currently grow 12 hectares of organic bulbs and in a good year we force around 4 million organic tulips (stalks)." Our company is certified by the Dutch organic organization Skal.

Storage & prep

Trim the bottom of the stems and pop in a small vase. Change the water every day - if they look a little droopy on arrival it's just because they're been out of water. They should perk up after 24 hours in water.
