Hot Ginger Smoothie

We only have eyes for one hot ginger this week, and it's this smoothie. With its creamy mix of bananas and strawberries, and that fiery kick of ginger heat, we think you’ll agree that it’s love at first sip.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 orange
  • 250g strawberries
  • 2cm slice of ginger
  • 330ml brown rice drink
  • A few ice cubes

Method

1. Peel the banana and break it into your blender. Use a small, sharp knife to slice the skin and white pith off the orange. Slice the segments out of the papery membrane and add them to the blender. Squeeze the membranes over the blender to wring out any remaining juice.
2. Hull the strawberries and add them to the blender. Slice a 2cm-thick chunk off the ginger, then peel it and grate it into the blender.
3. Add a few ice cubes and pour in 330ml brown rice drink. Blitz for a few mins till smooth and combined, then taste and grate in a little more ginger if you think it needs it. Blitz again, then pour into 2 glasses to serve.
