When Booja-Booja organic truffles are carefully handmade, they’d be missing a trick if their vessel shouldn’t be similarly crafted with artistry and care.
Lovingly handmade
There’s something so thrilling and delightful about revealing the truffles cloistered within these boxes. The boxes are actually all handmade with papier-mâché, lined with velvet and then hand-painted by a small artist collective called Persian Dowery in Kashmir, India.
Kashmir is a very special place, where hand made craft is still more popular than mass-produced industrial methods. Booja-Booja have even worked with Persian Dowery to make the boxes as eco-friendly as possible, sourcing the best materials with high quality and non-synthetic finishes. Persian Dowery meanwhile are a sustainable, eco-friendly, low carbon footprint community cooperative. Everything they do considers energy consumption, like allowing their artists to work from home. (This comes in especially handy during very cold Himalayan winters).
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these boxes of truffles, (or indeed, if they’re a gift) I’m sure you’ll agree they’re a joy to behold and are a nice thing to keep to store trinkets and treasures.
